Friday, September 22, 2017, Day 1

Attention Students, First Priority and Fellowship of Christian Athletes invite you to the annual “See You at the Pole” event on Wednesday, Sept 27th at 7:00 AM . We will meet at the flagpole at the front of the building for prayer and fellowship. Hope to see you there.

There will be a  corn hole tournament  on the parking deck between 3:30-6PM on September 29th! Sign up either in the main office or with Mr. Fowler. Cost is $5 per team and Champs earn the title and a CASH prize! If you aren’t into corn hole, join the rest of us at the tailgate for food, games, and music!

Announcement for Humankind Water Sales: Friday, Sept. 22-Oct. 2 Are you a kind human? Do you want to help others that do not have clean drinking water in this world? Help the transition students at Penn Manor High School and buy Humankind water and change lives forever! By purchasing just one bottle of water, you give another human 100 days of clean drinking water. Please stop by our table in the cafeteria during lunches From Tuesday, Sept. 26th through Tuesday Oct. 3rd. We will be selling a single bottle for $1.50, as well as bundles, for example 7 bottles for $10. So dig deep Penn Manor, dig for that extra change and find it in your heart to change the world.

Scholastic book orders are due in the library tomorrow, Friday Sept. 22nd. Please drop off orders at the circulation desk.

Bored in homeroom? Like sports? There are still openings for the intramural club that meets on Thursday in the east gym. E-mail Mr. Basile if you would like to be considered for membership.

The Penn Manor Chess team is in need of some chess players! The team meets on Tuesdays during homeroom in room 336. After school practices begin in November. Please see Ms Bookman in room 216 if you would like to be on the team!

Today, Tuesday – only Aevidum officers meet in room 316. The whole Aevidum club meets in the gym NEXT WEDNESDAY, but today, officers of Aevidum go to 316. A pass will be located in your homeroom.

Attention Quiz Bowl team members. We will be having our organizational meeting today in the HS library from 3-3:30. Please plan to attend. If you cannot be there, see Ms Bookman in room 216 or Mr Meier in room 308 for paperwork for the upcoming season.

Seniors, the deadline to sign up for the October SAT is this Friday, the 8th. If you plan to take them in October, please get on to your college board account and register before the end of the school day. If you are on free or reduced lunch, you can get a fee waiver in the school counselors office.

Any theatre students who are interested in participating in the special performance activity at the Barnstormers game this weekend’s game on Friday night – you must sign up and order your tickets by TOMORROW (Wed, Sept 6th) by the end of the school day. At that time, Mrs. Mintzer will give you more information about the rehearsal session for Thursday evening. But we must gather a list of names and ticket orders so that plans can be finalized. Stop by room 209 to see Mrs. Mintzer with questions.

Our fall play will be the best-selling story by Agatha Christie – “And Then There Were None” – a suspenseful thriller where ten people are invited to a weekend gathering in a luxurious mansion on a remote island. However, when the guests begin disappearing one by one – it becomes clear that one of the ten people is a murderer… If you want to help keep the audience on the edge of their seats, become a part of this production by auditioning for an onstage role on Wednesday and Thursday this week, or by submitting a crew application by Friday. All of the information and audition materials has been posted online on the PM Theatre blog – and our new Moodle site – located in the category labeled “student life”. You can also stop by room 209 to pick up hard copies of all of the paperwork, and to sign up for an audition time. See Mrs. Mintzer with any questions.
