Attention seniors, the Automotive Training Center is hosting its Annual Scholarship program at the Exton Campus on Thursday November 1 2018 at 6:00pm. This year, the combined value of the scholarships awarded is over $200,000. Seniors interested in attending can register either by calling the Admission Department at 1-800-411-8031, or by completing the registration form at their website www.autotraining.edu. Parents and friends are invited to attend the information session and tour the facility. For more information, see the guidance office.

Congratulations to your Penn Manor Girls’ Volleyball team on a hard fought victory over Manheim Township. It was a perfect Senior Night, starting off with a beautiful National Anthem sung by Diane Imboden, tons of support from the rowdiest student section in the state, Comet Nation, and finally ending with our seniors walking off the East Gym court for the last time as winners who clenched a league play-off birth. Your Comets have one more regular season match Wednesday night at Warwick. Then, they play in the first round of leagues on Friday night at Lancaster Mennonite.

Not only did the Comets avenge a 3 to 2 loss to the Falcons from earlier this season, but they did it in style, wearing pink to support the fight against cancer. Today, the girls volleyball team ventures into the Penn Manor community to offer a helping hand to local cancer patients.

The Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday, October 6th from 7pm to 10 pm in the cafeteria. In order to attend the dance, you must purchase tickets IN ADVANCE. Tickets will be on sale from Monday, Oct 1 to Friday, Oct 5 in the cafeteria during all lunches. Tickets are being sold for $8 a piece or $15 for a couple. Congratulations to the Penn Manor golf team as they completed their regular season with another fantastic performance.  The Comets came in second place again, while easily defeating Hempfield, Lancaster Catholic and Cedar Crest.  The team went 14-6 in section I play and undefeated in non-section play.  Logan Hess led the Comets again with section low score of 72 while Kaden Peart, Griffin Rineer, Josh Heckman, Max Forrey, Keegan Dings, Amanda Wolf and Cole Spezzaletti all contributed in the win.  Please wish them luck as they all made it into the playoffs when they tee it up on Monday.

“Make sure to check out the counseling blog for information on fee waivers when applying to Kutztown University. The deadline to use an application fee waiver for Kutztown is November 15th, 2018. In addition, Kutztown offers more than 500 financial aid awards. All students who are admitted are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships. These scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is best to utilize Kutztown’s rolling admissions process to its full potential and apply early with the fee waiver!

FCCLA is designed to promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education by focusing on the multiple roles of family member, their careers, and opportunities as community leaders. Members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation. There are opportunities to learn through exciting competitive events, conferences and much more. FCCLA at the state and national level also offers scholarships. The Penn Manor golf team had another successful outing at Bent Creek Country Club yesterday defeating Hempfield and Cedar Crest. The Comets now have 8 wins on the year with only 4 losses.  Logan Hess led the Comets again with the low round of the day while Griffin Rineer, Josh Heckman, Kaden Peart, Max Forrey and standout freshman Keegan Dings all contributed to a Comet victory.
