In an effort to increase recognition and distinction of students for their academic performance, Penn Manor High School has implemented changes to grading-system and grade-point-average (GPA) calculations, effective September 2024.
In order for this transition to happen effectively, these changes will apply to the class of 2028 (current 9th grade students) ONLY at the start of the 2024/2025 school year. Students in grades 10-12 will continue to use the current five-band grading system.
The new grading system will be systematically put into practice with each new cohort class over the next four years until classes with our current system graduate from Penn Manor High School.
The new system will impact GPA calculations as follows:
Percent Ranges | Letter Grade | CP/Career GPA | Honors GPA | AP GPA | AP+ GPA |
93-100 | A | 4.0 | 4.5 | 5 | 5.5 |
