Congratulations to Kyle Murr for earning a gold medal in the triple jump at the state track and field championships at Shippensburg University on May 29. Kyle is only the second track and field state champion in Penn Manor history to earn gold and the first since 1929, when Amos Herr won gold in the pole vault. Murr earned the state boys’ triple jump title after leaping 46 feet, 10.75 inches – nine inches longer than the second-place jump. Kyle wasn’t the only Penn Manor student athlete to earn a state medal that day. Distance runner Graham Thomas placed eighth in the 3,200-meter run, and the doubles tennis team of Curtis Rabatin and Maxwell Davis place fourth in the state tennis championship. Congrats to all of these Penn Manor student athletes!

Do you enjoy making videos? Or being the person IN the video? Here’s an opportunity to be a part of a very special Penn Manor Production – we are looking for people to play the roles of teenagers in scenes that happen outside of a classroom – the most important experiences that young people deal with while attending high school. The scenes are sometimes serious and many are light-hearted, showing that real life lessons are learned in the halls, cafeteria, parking lots, and anywhere students are allowed to be themselves. Submit a short video audition by November 2nd – but we will include EVERY SINGLE STUDENT who is interested -there will be no cuts, and we will work around your jobs, sports, activities, and family commitments – we want this to be an all-inclusive production. If you can spare 30 minutes each week to rehearse, that’s all we need! Email Mrs. Mintzer with questions. For more information, join our google classroom with the code: efw2f3n
